Background / Experience: 25 years of general psychotherapy practice. 20 years experience facilitating psychotherapy groups and residential retreats. 25 years experience working with people diagnosed with or affected by chronic and life challenging illnesses including: AIDS, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Extensive experience working with gay and lesbian issues. Professional trainer/consultant in Group Process, Imagery and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy. Cofounder and Clinical Director of Project Quest (1987), a nonprofit Mind-Body Wellness Center that offers mental health and wellness services to people with life challenging illness. Professional Interests / Specialties:Using Ericksonian hypnosis, EMDR and interactive imagery to explore issues and facilitate change. Providing support for individuals and families adjusting to medical illness and chronic medical conditions, including work with death, dying, grief and bereavement. Utilization of Mind-Body and Complementary Medicine interventions to manage illness and promote wellness. Groups for health promoting behaviors, including changing health habits and promoting behavioral change. Performance and Sports Psychology.
